Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act
In 2009 President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act which allows the victim of unfair wages to file a complaint with the government against their employer within 180 days of their first unfair pay check. The act is named for former Goodyear employ who was found to be paid 15 to 40 percent less than the men. Women currently make about 80 cents on a dollar of the men wages. The President vows to reduce this gap. There has been much needed progress in the work force but four and half decades latter women are still paid less then men for the same job and same qualifications. Was gotten from encylppiedia
